“I’d like to live to a ripe old age with yoko. only.
and I’m not afraid of dying. I don’t know how it feels at the moment but i’m prepared for death because I don’t believe in it.
I think it’s just getting out of one car and getting into another.”
In a world that demands blind faith in so many idols , John Lennon had the talent of taking apart the concept of God
and yes, it is a concept by which we measure pain .
If indeed one is to believe a graffiti i had seen recently on a local wall, everything either is motivated by FEAR
or by LOVE.
John , I believe, went from fear to love and tried to speak from a voice of his own truth regardless what others said,
ignoring the many idols people erect in order to avoid facing their own personal truths.
John Lennon was perhaps a man who was born before the world was ready to shed the many veils of hypocricy .
I , for one, wish he had sang the following lines;
I don’t believe in drugs
I don’t believe in Alcohol
I don’t believe in ego
I just believe in Love
but i do believe his life and songs were just about what music can do to the human soul, how it can take it places
that no drug, that no false idol can take it, to a place of the most personal truth of the soul touched by the hands
of a higher power of truth, the power to move the soul with the smallest hands.
The dream is not over,
“They say i am a dreamer but i am NOT the only one..”
-“Imagine” , John Lennon.
The dream is not over- a poem for John Lennon
He left us the songs
he told us the truth
he struggled to say
he struggled to play
he struggled to survive
and then one day
he was gone
but the dream is not over
for dreams come and go
all the time
as long as we are alive
