A thousand words

They appear
As they did
Centuries before
A doe and her young child
The same as they appear
(And leave)
In German poems
And sometimes paintings.
The doe looked around
In fear
The young deer
tried to stay
Very near
Then they disappeared
Into the green bushes
bordering the forest.
They were
bambi and his mother.
They are
the seasonal speciality
at the local restaurant.
(Very unfortunately)
Forgetting a camera
I relied on words.
Stumbling .falling.
