Another year of growing wise

One day
You wake up:
The touch of  cold icy fingers
Is beyond hope
Of rekindling a fire.
How to build a fire
With ice?
How to keep a flame
With a run a way?
One day
You wake up,
Another year has gone by
You have grown wise enough
To say “goodbye”
To all the cold illusions
Frozen in memories
Of years gone by.
It is cold enough outside
You finally realize,
Without bringing the snow
But it took all these years
Shoveling snow
To finally
