The process of shrinking

A shrink
takes away the air from your balloon,
Labels the soul
like a dead embryo floating
in a stinky liquid in a glass jar
on a shelf
but too many people will believe
a pedigreed creed
sipping money with a straw
before they believe
what they themselves know
or a good friend
or why there is too often
no one to tell the truth.
Years from now,
years and years from now
as your memory will shrink too
you will forget the man
but remember how small
and insignificant and stupid
he made you feel
as you paid for the torture
50 minutes of his judgemental
medical arrogant authority
