It gets easier

to not get irritated

by what you interpret

as hurtful comments,

it gets easier to wear

a solid shell like a turtle

showing you want to be left

alone,

but then spring leaves

flowers scattered  everywhere

and you seem to have developed

an allergy to living things,

look,

a photograph of

yellow tullips appear

sent by a friend

far far away,

but they only seem to remind

of a need to forget

opening up.

Winter suited you better,

buttoned up and distant,

you were in your element

frozen snow

but with closing up

comes also  a particular ignorance

of all that you need to know

in order to grow.
