On the road this morning i met old age

“Just because you are paranoid
Does not mean they are not out to get you.”
   -woody Allen
This morning
An elderly woman
barely alive
Muttering incoherent sounds
reminded me
how easy life can be
for those who are not
Like the woman
I saw on the bus.
She sat next to me
And suddenly
I wss the most popular kid
In class not wanting
an earlier version of myself
to sit next to me.
I left a memory behind
of n elderly  neighbor
i suspect reported me
not placing rhe trash
in the designated bag
On the designated day
At the designated place.
Some people
grow mean with age,
and others
They just can’t.
