Two poems and a mole

I think mice are rather nice

Their tails are long,

their faces small,

they haven’t any chins at all.

Their ears are pink ,

their teeth are white ,

they run about the house at night,

they nibble things they shouldn’t touch

And no one seems to like them much ,

but i think mice are nice.”

-Rose Fyleman

But he was a mole

he was not a mouse at all!

This morning i forgot to call

“inquires between 8 and 9”

the little card from the animal hospital had said,

but i was too sad to call

about the mole,

it’s not that i don’t care at all,

i just did not have the heart to hear

bad news that i would fear..
