There is

There is
a bird who sings so many
Songs
in me
but she is so easily scared
Scattering unsung melodies
to a cold winter wind.
There is
A bird that sings so many
Songs
in me
who seeks a listener
in you.
I  thought
I had found you once
but you were only
pretending to be listening
to my song
You were humming your
own tune.
There is a bird
who wants to sing
and hear another
sing back
an answer
Like the way the birds sing
their messages
on a Sunday
morning.

Easy songs
of being.
There is a bird in me
that sings
not to herself
Alone
but longs to be
heard and
understood.
Waiting to hear
another sing back
an answer.
