Donald Trump said he was not surprised by allegations that Weinstein sexually harassed women for nearly three decades.
“I’ve known Harvey Weinstein for a very long time, I’m not at all surprised to see it,” the US president said.
If this is not a case of the pot calling the kettle black..
The weinstein affair exposes hypocrisy of keeping silent instead of speaking out against sexual harassment .
Far more disturbing to have discovered that the film producer harassed women is that famous women who seemed strong powerful and self assured turned out to be too weak to say something , not socially aware or caring enough to think that speaking out might save some other women from experiencing the same harassment and to report what is clearly a crime against women
How can you keep silent in order to make a profit ?If talented actresses were too afraid to speak out then what sort of industry are they supporting ?
How horrible to have discovered that what is said about Hollywood is actually true and it is not so much an artistic endeavour but more like a prostitution production where men rule.
I guess there is a reason i never did like those cheesy Hollywood productions and found them fake, the energies that went into making those productions were obviously disturbed oppressed people not artists.
Sad that women we thought were strong kept the disturbing behaviour secret instead of speaking out, especially Angelina Jolie, who seems so outspoken about human rights violations, so what about thinking to expose the scoundrel and save other women this sort of treatment?
When Gwyneth Paltrow was 22 years old, she got a role that would take her from actress to star: The film producer Harvey Weinstein hired her for the lead in the Jane Austen adaptation “Emma.” Before shooting began, he summoned her to his suite at the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel for a work meeting that began uneventfully.
It ended with Mr. Weinstein placing his hands on her and suggesting they head to the bedroom for massages, she said.
“I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified,” she said in an interview, publicly disclosing that she was sexually harassed by the man who ignited her career and later helped her win an Academy Award.
She refused his advances, she said, and confided in Brad Pitt, her boyfriend at the time. Mr. Pitt confronted Mr. Weinstein, and soon after, the producer warned her not to tell anyone else about his come-on. “I thought he was going to fire me,” she said.
