Sometimes smart men can be stupid

I fail to see how banning an event at the Israeli consult actually promotes dialogue ? Just as i disagree with any political ban instead of forming an intelligent dialogue , this recent news item caught my eye, there is an incredibly smart man who wrote a book about intelligence and human evolution yet like a cry baby if anyone does not follow his script of what SHOULD be the country’s description, nothing new, by the way that Israel is the historical Jewish homeland and not L.A., or Beijing, is one matter and then there is the use of surrogates in creating babies for homosexual males; thus declaring them having a fertility problem ,but not wishing to have sex or involving a woman in the process of creating children is not very progressive from the point of view of a woman who thinks that a woman who gives birth to a baby she carried in her womb SHOULD not be completely out of the life of the baby because she received money in order to act as the most important person in the baby’s life, omitting women from the process of parenting is more problematic than omitting fathers for the obvious lack of equality in the contribution of the male and female in the creation of a baby; a man contributes sperm that takes a few seconds to ejectulate while a woman spends more than NINE MONTHS carrying a fertilised egg and then going through a painful process of birth not to mention breast feeding but the new modern homosexual type seeks to erase the mother, and this seems to me a violent act against women, and not at all liberal, so i suggest not reading what i have heard described as brilliant books by the scholar since i find his views very disrespectful to women and to mothers everywhere.

Turning his back to Israel, the county where he was born and grew up , and banning events while choosing the side of its enemies , seems to me an act that goes along with turning back to women as mothers and deciding that a child does not need a mother just as the scholar concluded that he does not need his native land where he was born and raised if the county fails to comply with his so called liberal values which are not objectively liberal at all if you examine them closer.

Yuval Noah Harari Rebuffs Israeli Consulate Event in Protest of New Israeli Laws

Best-selling Israeli author Yuval Noah Harari declined to participate in an Israeli consulate event in Los Angeles, in protest at Israel’s enactment of the Nation-State and surrogacy laws, Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Monday.

Prof. Harari, a historian and author of “Sapiens: A Brief History of humankind,” “Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow” and “21 Lessons for the 21th Century,” explained through a representative that he is “proud of his Israeliness,” but that the consulate is the long arm of Israeli government policy, which is restraining the freedom of the press, expression, creativity and thought.

The consulate had planned a reception for the professor before the Live Talks LA meeting, a project in which various speakers visit Los Angeles and lecture on their lives or success. Harari was scheduled for an interview in September.

The consulate representative, Karin Eliyahu-Pery, said that the Foreign Ministry isn’t a poll body. Harari’s representative answered that even so, they prefer not to represent the Israeli government as long as it persists with this policy.

In July, legislators voted against allowing same-sex couples to build a family using surrogate mothers, and also passed a controversial bill that officially defines Israel as the national homeland of the Jewish people and asserts that “the realization of the right to national self-determination in Israel is unique to the Jewish people.”
