God only knows

“God only knows who we are

God only knows what is in our hearts

God only

knows”

-a poem by me

I used to date a guy called Gad-which could be pronounced God-a name that means one of the tribes of Israel, he really got a kick having that name and playing God, torturing mice in a laboratory in the Weizmann institute, in Israel, and God only knows how i wanted to release those poor mice but they were NAKED mice, special mice bred to be tested in laboratories , and God only knows he tortured me, then denied it, playing one of those games people play, he had eyes that resembled Franz Kafka’s deep brown eyes and i was reading his diary while he would be entering data of the tortured mice, and i thought well, my father died of cancer and his name was also God, thought it was a slightly different name, named after a leader of the Jewish people , but well, God only knows i needed to make connections then and i did not dare to explore what i could do and what i could discover, i was seeking to be the other half, thinking i needed to be a part of a pair or cease to be , and guess what? years and years later, i discovered i really did not need anyone in my life if it would mean i would not make my OWN discoveries, and so tonight as i might go see Brian Wilson sings, i am thinking to myself ..God only knows..

But long as there are stars above you
You never need to doubt it
I’ll make you so sure about it
God only knows what I’d be without you
If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on, believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would livin’ do me
God only knows what I’d be without you
God only knows what I’d be without you
If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on, believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would livin’ do me
God only knows what I’d be without you
God only knows what I’d be without you
